Clinical Skills for Primary Care (Prescribing & Differential Diagnosis)(Altibbi NCD 3) |
In this module, you will be looking at two clinical skills that we use in most of our consultations in primary care, Prescribing and Differential Diagnosis.
Each unit will take about an hour to complete. You may also need a notebook to write down notes and answer questions as you go through the unit.

DEMO Digital Literacy(DEMO_O&D) |
Technology is rapidly transforming the delivery of health services and our management of population health. While the health care sector has typically lagged behind other sectors in adopting and harnessing technology, there are now sufficient components in place for technology to help make significant progress in improving quality, efficiency and outcomes for populations on a large scale.
The global coronavirus pandemic, which has adversely affected so many health systems, has also led to greater recognition of the role of technology in the delivery of health care services to diverse populations. Remote assessment, artificial intelligence and other digital health tools are being deployed around the world to address previously unmet needs.
This digital technology will be pervasive in healthcare operations and service delivery in the near future. It is therefore imperative that healthcare workers have the right skills to make the most of the range of tools now available to them.
The Digital Competence in Primary Health Care module is designed to define some of the core knowledge and skills that healthcare professionals need to navigate the digital or eHealth landscape. The module covers a wide range of areas, from generic competencies required by all staff, to specific areas that may only be required by a certain type of professional. However, all topics in the module will be designed to accommodate the widest possible range of healthcare audience.
The module will cover the following domains:
1. Information, Data and Content Literacy
2. Learning and self-development
3. Communication, collaboration and participation
4. Digital security
The module content will cover:
- How to manage online consultations and telemedicine.
- Communication skills for remote consultations
- How to use digital tools for clinical management
- Using technology to obtain specialist support from secondary care
- Risk management
Please use a notebook as a journal to record answers to the reflective questions throughout the module.
The module is 15 hours of learning, which you can take at your own pace. |
